Someone asks me something I don’t know?

Stop yourself before you attempt to fake your way through an answer.  Your credibility will be damaged if you give information that later proves inaccurate or misleading.  The wiser path is to put the questioner off for a moment.  Try saying this:  “I haven’t seen that, but I can tell you this…”  Or, “I don’t have that at my fingertips but I will find out and get back to you.  Right now I will say this…”

There is no good reason to put so much pressure on yourself.  No one has all the answers, all the time.  Avoid guessing, estimating, and speculating.  On stage, it’s best to stick with what you know.
