Candidate Readiness
Former Governor of Texas Ann Richards on preparing the keynote that brought the house down at the Democratic National Convention, “I spent hours of time rehearsing… It had to sound casual, conversational, but that took work.”
Our founder Chris Jahnke can help you prepare for a big speech and all the demands of politicking in a digital world where everything you say and do can be broadcast almost instantly. In 2008 Chris provided media training to the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign and debate prep for Governor Christine Gregoire, Governor Bev Perdue, and U.S. Senate Candidate Al Franken.
We start by assessing the candidate and the campaign’s readiness. Do you have communications staff in place? Is there someone who can write a stump speech? Do you have a fundraising message? Is your wardrobe camera ready? Then we will help you pull it all together to talk to voters, supporters, decision makers, and the news media.
We can help:
- Write the stump speech
- Develop the message strategy
- Tell the candidate’s story
- Prepare for live debates and public forums
- Conquer the television interview
"We had so many supporters who were passionate about Hillary's candidacy, but not experienced in representing the campaign. Chris's media and message advice was a great resource, enabling them to speak with confidence and knowledge about the issues of the day, from the television screen to personal meetings with their neighbors," Senior Clinton Advisor & former White House Communications Director Ann Lewis.
Since 1992 the “year of the woman” in politics and every election cycle since, Chris has provided media and speech coaching for women candidates. She is an expert in helping women break through political glass ceilings and provides training expertise to the Center for the American Woman and Politics, Democratic Governors Association, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Emily’s List, Women’s Campaign Forum and more.
